I have never been the kind of girl to sit down and finish an article on CNN's website. I cannot, for the life of me, understand what these "mega adults" are talking about. I find myself having to "dumb down" the news a bit so that I can fully understand what people are talking about. Thankfully, I have the wonderful internet to lean on. There are five websites that really help me out when it comes to news:
1. theSkimm
I subscribed to emails from this site about a year ago. They send a daily email with a roundup of all the important things a gal should know. I find it very satisfying to hear the chirping of my phone and to see an alert from them. They provide me political information and word it in a way that is very relatable and understandable for someone my age. For someone who has never been into politics, they make it sort of fun.

2. BuzzFeed News
I like to browse through Buzzfeed for my international news. Something about their website catches my eye and makes me feel like everything is easier to read. Sometimes I have to sort for quite a while to find things that make sense to me and sound legitimate but, other times the news is splashed right in front of my face.

3. npr
I am a huge NPR fan. I love to play it in the morning as I get ready and on long car rides. Some find the channel boring and irritating but, I love to listen to their station. I love that they break up the news by playing music or interesting interviews in between. Sometimes I find myself listening for hours because I don't want to miss out on anything that they might play.

4. National Geographic
With this platform being my dream job, it is a no brainer that I read through their articles daily. I find it interesting to get more of an "inside scoop" on world news.

5. Twitter
In times of stress, I pop open Twitter. If there is something that I have heard about and I am searching for more information or opinions I will look for it on Twitter. I find myself searching local news station profiles and commentary so that I can hear something from all points of view and understand where everyone is coming from before I form my own opinion.

. . .
Those are the news platforms that I find myself utilizing most often!
